Well I have to say life has gotten a whole lot more interesting for my husband John and I, when this little guy came into our lives. Everything they say about having a baby is true...you will never have a quiet meal again, and grandmas will attack your stroller forcing their hands on his toes or rubbing his belly. You learn to sleep with one eye open, and every shirt you own better be machine washable or you will make the dry cleaner a very rich man. All of that doesn't matter though, the second you hear his first laugh or the nights he falls asleep on your shoulder, softly snoring or the day when he reaches another baby milestone is better than anything you've ever accomplished in your lifetime. Just holding him is better than hot cocoa on a cold winter's day. I know this has nothing to do about me but all I have to say is... I am the luckiest woman around.
Obviously whoever took these pictures has talent!! This is my first post as DADA. I'm just thankful that both of my stinkies decided to take a jet bath. Jack had an armor of slobber and milk coating his entire body, and Laura, well she was coated in sweat from her intense P90X workouts, and love from her amazing, handsome husband. Its crazy that our little man has graduated from his little plastic bath, to the luxurious first class jet bath at grandma and grandpas. Little do they know we use this bath when they are gone. Sorry grandma for all the foam slithering down your walls, Jack decided he likes to squirm in the tub which creates a flurry of foam as you can see in the pictures. Life smells good right now.
These photos were taken the day we got Sasha (the horse). I love how happy Jack gets with his Dad. I especially like the detail of drool coming down Jack's chin. Well all is good on the farm. We have 4 dogs, one horse, one owl and a baby, and lots of cow poop.... oh and we got a cat! Her name is Kitty and she is a good mouse catcher. It's a full house over here on the farm, but there is always room for a friendly face. Miss you all. xoxo
My 5 month old son has a 9 month body and a 12 month size head. He weighs 19 lbs and is 28.5 inches long.... Ohh and he's getting closer and closer to crawling everyday.
One the best times of the day are the minutes right before Jack takes his nap. He gets really hyper and happy. He giggles and squirms and loves playing the hide and seek game under the covers. We play for about 20 min then he gets really grumpy. I pop a warm bottle of milk in his mouth and in about 5 min I have a sound asleep baby for the next two hours....or at least the next 10-15 minutes. There are advantages and disadvantages to sleeping with the little guy. I love feeling him curl into my side and listen to his soft little snore. I place my cheek on top of his head where his soft baby fuzz tickles my nose. I start to dose off and this is where the not so fun part comes in. Jack likes to reach out and feel to make sure you're still there. Well he's still getting the whole reaching out part down it's more likely I'll get poked in the eye punched in the nose or slapped on the lips. It's ok though, knowing that all he wants is for me to be close makes it all worth it.
John and I like to take the dog's for a walk down to the mote behind the farm. It's amazing what you can find; old tractor parts, rusted mid-century gadgets, petrified wood and one mangled deer carcass. Still the land scape is beautiful and we don't have to go much further than our back yard.
